The Story
Batman: Arkham Origins is set five years after the events of the second Arkham game, taking place after the death of Harvey Dent. The game begins with The Joker breaking into Wayne Manor, holding Barbara and Thomas Wayne hostage at gunpoint. He forces Thomas to send a video message to his family, telling them that if the Wayne family don’t pay him $100 million, then Thomas will be killed. The video features the Joker beating and torturing Barbara, ultimately revealing that they are the same person, but playing opposite roles.
Afterwards, the Joker makes contact with the Penguin and Two-Face, offering the same deal to them. However, the Joker has another plan in mind for the Waynes, and sends the heroes of Arkham City after them. After taking the Waynes, the heroes of Arkham City chase after Batman, leading to the confrontation in the GCPD Station where Batman fights Gordon and the mayor. The Joker arrives after the battle to finish
